ABSTRACT GUIDELINES
Authors are invited to propose papers for inclusion in PATRAM 2025 focusing on a broad range of technical, institutional and operational topics and matters. All submissions received by
January 10, 2025 will be considered. Selection for inclusion in the PATRAM 2025 Symposium will be made based on the merits of the paper as judged by review of abstracts.

- Deadline to Submit Abstracts: January 10, 2025 at 11:59 PM (Pacific Standard Time)
- Review Period: February 1 – February 28, 2025
- Author Notification: Starting March 1, 2025
- Due Date for Paper Withdrawal and Author Changes (for selected abstracts): March 30, 2025
- Final Papers Due (for selected abstracts): June 12, 2025
- Final Presentations Due (for selected abstracts): July 7, 2025
GUIDELINES
Before submitting your abstract, be sure you have the following components:
- Presentation Type – Oral Presentation or Poster Presentation: Authors should indicate whether they intend to present their papers verbally or as a poster.
- Presenting Author / Primary Name & Contact Information: This includes mailing address, phone, and email. This information is important so that the Paper Selection Committee can contact you regarding the disposition of your paper.

- Paper Title
- Abstract Text:
- The abstract should succinctly describe the premise, substance, central findings and results or expected results of the paper.
- Abstracts may not exceed 350 words.
- Each abstract submitted for consideration MUST be in English.
- Topic Area: Authors should indicate the topic they believe best represents their paper. (see below)
TOPIC AREA
Papers may include, but are not limited to, the following topics:
- Package Design (including Materials and Testing)
- Analysis (including Structural, Thermal, Containment, Shielding, Criticality, and Risk Assessment)
- Transport Operations (including Tracking, Routing, Emergency Preparedness, Radiation Protection, Denial of Shipments, and Package Handling)
- Regulatory & Institutional Issues (including Regulations, Codes and Standards, Communications, and Liability)
- Content Specific Challenges (including Spent Fuel, Radio Pharmaceuticals, Large Items, UF6, NORM, Waste, Fissile Material, Orphan Sources, and Manufactured Items)
- New trends in Packaging and Transport of Radioactive Materials (including Transportable Reactors, HALEU, Use of Drones [both beneficially and negatively], and Use of Artificial Intelligence)
- Transportation Security (including current technologies, security risk analysis, workforce development, emerging threats and technologies, information protection, response considerations, and advanced reactor shipping)
HOW TO SUBMIT AN ABSTRACT
- Abstracts must be submitted electronically via the PATRAM 2025 website beginning on Sept. 9, 2024. This online database will allow authors flexibility in submitting their abstracts. Click here for full instructions.
- Abstracts must be submitted electronically by January 10, 2025.
- Complete all sections of the electronic submittal form, including name, mailing address, phone, and e-mail. This information is important so that the Paper Selection Committee can contact you regarding the disposition of your paper.
- Final Papers are required from all presenters. Final papers are due no later than June 12, 2025. Instructions for submitting your paper will be sent with your author notification.
